This hits on an important problem - we're only encouraged to identify our love languages (or whatever other stuff) in relation to other people (how do I want to be loved, how does my partner want to be loved, how do we figure this out together to make our relationship work), instead of just for ourselves. It's lip service, because in our culture we still don't believe that self love is important for its own sake, but only as a prerequisite for making us better partners to someone else.
