Yeah, I can see where you're coming from. To me, it's clear that being who I am also includes my ideas on personal growth, stuff that excites me that I want to try, etc. Also, I guess the essay is partially a justification for non-improvement. I don't think humans need to constantly improve themselves. We're not apps and tools and processes to optimize, in my opinion. Yes, I'm talking about a metaphorical bell curve. I don't know where you fall depending on which metrics you apply. What I'm saying is you have a meaningful life that is still not the type of super successful, super rich, super famous (music icon, star athlete, entrepreneur turned billionaire) story that America is so enamored with and we are taught to strive for.
